Ben Madigan, the Preparatory Department of Belfast Royal Academy (a well-known grammar school in Belfast, Northern Ireland) will be holding a Bring & Buy Sale on Friday, 23rd November 2012, and all money raised on the day will be donated to the Suzy Fund.
The Suzy Fund was selected as the beneficiary of the proceeds from the Bring & Buy Sale as a result of Jake Hamilton aged 9, who is in Prep 6, and four of his classmates, namely, Bryanna Catney, Johnathan Forbes, Tom McKibben and Kerry Upritchard, giving a Powerpoint presentation on the Suzy Fund to the rest of their class. They had to compete against three other groups who each gave a presentation on their chosen Charity. Following the presentations the class was asked to vote for whichever group they considered to be the best. Jakes group’s was the overall winner with a total of 36 votes out of a possible 56 and hence the Suzy Fund will receive the proceeds from the Bring & Buy sale. Needless to say Jake and his team are absolutely delighted.
The group then gave their presentation to the whole school at Assembly and received loud applause.
